London, June 6. . . [108 lines, 3 lines: A lengthy account
of the King's birthday celebration, consisting of a list of
the fire works set off, and other decorations] The ball was
opened at St. James's on Thursday by the Duke of York and
the Princess Augusta. The concourse of nobility and gentry
was so great, that several ladies fainted through excessive
heat. The minutes [=minuets] did not end till near one,
when the country dances began, then his majesty withdrew,
and the ball ended between two and three o'clock.
