Penbrook, in New-Hampshire, June 20, 1766. Monday last
being appointed by the Sons of Liberty, for public
rejoicings on account of the repeal of the Stamp Act, the
morning was ushered in with the beat of the drums, and
firing of guns, &c. and there was a flag hoisted before the
door of Moses Foster, Esq; of said Pembrook, upon the top of
a pole erected for the purpose; and on the one side of said
flag were these characters, G. R. and on the other Mr. P.
and on said pole below the flag was the following
inscription, fastened up and exposed to public view, G. R.
III. Unity, To the Honor of Mr. Pitt. Stamp-Act repealed,
