THE PARODY PARODIZ'D. OR THE MASSACHUSETTS LIBERTY SONG.
Come swallow your bumpers, ye Tories & roar,
That the sons of fair freedom are hamper'd once more;
But know, no such furies our spirits can tame,
Nor a host of oppressors shall smother the flame.
In freedom we're born, & like sons of the brave,
Will never surrender,
But swear to defend her,
And sworn to survive, if unable to save.
Our grandsires, blest heroes! we'll give them a tear,
Nor fully their honors, by stooping to fear;
Thro' death, and thro' dangers, their trophies they won,
We dare be their rivals, nor will be outdone.
In freedom we're born, &c.
. . . [8 more verses, each referring to the chorus by its
first line as above; the last time the chorus reprinted in
full]
