London, March 20. One of the common council observed on a
late occasion, that a great personage discovered more
generosity in his behaviour than his attendants, he laughed
openly, but they laughed in their sleeves.
Nero fiddled while Rome was burning.
Yesterday counter orders were sent to the several
manufacturing towns, postponing the late commissions for
goods, which were intended to be ship'd for the American
colonies.
A certain Assembly were on Monday so exceedingly polite
that the Tower, Newgate, and Common-Hangman, were words
tho't too indelicate to be once mentioned.
