Messr'rs. Fowles; The follow Parody I pick'd up in the
street near the Parade, and as I imagine it was design'd for
the press, I send you an exact copy of it:--Jack Queer's
remedy for love, will best suit his own distress (madness)
with a little necessary alteration, I wish him the greatest
success in the operation, and hope it will hinder him from
stabbing himself.
  Let either end of a cord be made fast to a beam,
  Get every thing fix'd for t'other extream.
  Let joint stool or Cricket be underneath set,
  When on it, Jack Queer, you must courageously get;
  Like a fool let your head in the sniket be got,
  You need not be nice, as to fitting the knot,
  Be advised by your friend, and take a fair swing,
  One moment would teach you the good of the string.
