London, December 29. . . We are likewise informed, that the
same great personage [George III], in the course of
conversation with a certain Lady of Quality, who is
remarkable for having grand routs at her house, had
requested, that she would promise to grant him one favour,
to which her Ladyship having assented, he then desired that
she would have no Routs or Assemblies for the future on
Sundays, and that she would go to none other on that Day,
which her Ladyship very loyally and readily promised should
be complied with. - - This example will no doubt be followed
by the rest of the Quality, as from this they will see how
acceptable such a conduct will be to him.
