Annapolis, July 28. Extract of a letter from Frederick-
Town, July 19m 1763.
. . . [Description of Indian depredations on frontier.]
Captain Butler, on Wednesday last, called the Town company
together who appeared under arms on the Court House green,
with great unanimity. -- Just as the drum beat to arms, we
had the agreeable satisfaction of seeing a waggon, sent up
by his excellency . . . [filled with powder and lead, which
greatly encouraged recruiting for volunteers to march
against the Indians.]
