Falmouth, Casco Bay, May 23,. On Friday last arrived here
the Scarboro' mast ship, Capt. Tate, in 24 days from London,
who brought us a verbal account of the total repeal of the
stamp act . . . The morning following was usher'd in with
every demonstration of loyalty and joy that could possibly
be express'd, such as ringing of bells, firing of cannon at
the fort and on board the shipping in the harbour, having
all their colours displayed, beating of drums, &c. . . .
