Extract of a letter from Dublin, September 17. . . [20 lines
on unrest in Ireland]
As to the spirit of emigration; it prevails to such a pitch,
that a song has been lately made, which is in high vogue
amongst the vulgar; it is set to one of Jack Latin's tunes,
and begins thus:
We'll to the colonies boys
Try whether we can get work or not,
This is played by every cat-gut scraper in Dublin, and sung
with great joviality by different mobs, who almost nightly
parade the streets.
