3-10 Nov 1774:33 (2/58)
A teacher of psalmody has just arrived in this town, who
begs leave to acquaint the respectable inhabitants, that he
will; upon the most reasonable terms, instruct those who
choose to employ him, in all the branches of their noble and
divine science, agreeable to the methods practised by the
most celebrated authors. He also teaches the scale of
music, the fife, and German flute. Such ladies or gentlemen
whom he may have the honour to instruct, may depend upon the
utmost exertion of his abilities to give satisfaction. If
he is not employed immediately, his stay here will be very
short, he having received a call to another town.
Jabez Smith
N.B. He may be spoke with at the house of Mr. Azariah
Lathrop. Norwich, November 3, 1774.
