London, . . . August 8. Last Tuesday night the merchants
trading to New-England, and the other North American
colonies, met at the New-England and Cape-Breton
Coffeehouse, behind the Royal Exchange, to celebrate General
Pepperell and Commodore Warren's glorious success in the
reduction of Cape-Breton where the healths of his Majesty, .
. . [4 lines] were drank; several barrels of beer were given
to the populace, and the whole was conducted with the
greatest decourm. Martial musick was perform'd, a large
bonfire was made, and several fireworks were display'd on
this great event.
