On the 27th of June last Simon Charrue, some say of the age
of one hundred and nine, and others of one hundred and
eleven, was married to his third wife, Lovisa Olive, of the
age of thirty-five, in the Cathedral Church of St. Corentin
de Quimper, in lower Bretagne. The bridegroom, who is a
native of Pezenas, in Languedoc, walks well, and has the
perfect use of all his senses; from the year 1666 he has
continued to blow the great trumpet in the Band of Church
Musick. He was married the first time in 1667, and was then
stiled a man of full age.
