From the London Daily Advertiser, April 17.
The Inspector.
Men are but children of a larger growth. Dryden.
To the Inspectoress.
Madam, There are a set of little singularities in some of
the men's behaviour, which I wonder you or your curious
husband have never yet taken a proper notice of; but they
say no body knows so little of the game as they that play
it. . . [1 1/2 columns discussing men's physical attitudes
in public, particularly the disposition of their arms.]
I have a vast deal more to say about lawyers and the
players, and the Tiddy-doll, and the Robin-Hood-Man, and a
great many more abusers of arms, &c. but I must dress for
the play, and so dear Mrs. Amelia, I am, your very humble
servant, [signed] Susey Prattle.
