London, August 4. Extract of a letter from the Reverend Mr.
Ulsperger at Augsbourg, dated 17th July 1732, N.S. to the
Secretary of the Society (at London) for Promoting Christian
Knowledge.

British were used to help 900 exiles from Salzburg, and
sermons and services given for thousands of people of all
denominations]
. . . On Wednesday morning I preach'd to them again in this
church, from Psal. 23 6, Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord forever. After sermon they were permitted
to sing two hymns by themselves, which caused a flood of
tears in the congregation. In the afternoon most of our
ministers preach'd to them, when 600 florins, part of the
2000 above-mentioned, were distributed among them. . .
