New York, August 10. The following lines were sent to the
printer hereof, by an unknown hand, with an earnest desire
to have them inserted in the New York Gazette, which we hope
may not be unacceptable to our readers. Revel. xviii, 11.
And the Merchants of the Earth shall weep and mourn over
her, for no man buyeth her merchandize any more.
TO THE AUTHOR OF THE NEW-YORK GAZETTE.
For once let me ask you a question, good Sir,
And if you resolve me, I'll serve you as far,
As your eyes do behold all the universe round,
Who sinks, and who swims, or what ship runs a'ground.
