London, Aug. 1. The merchants have received advice, that
Admiral Haddock has taken near Cadiz, a Spanish ship with
French colours; but not (as was said in the paper) a French
ship with Spanish colours; for carrying the colours of
another nation does not authorize a capture. . .
On Monday night orders came to the War Office for adding
twenty five men, together with a Lieutenant, Serjeant,
Corporal and Drum to each Troop of Horse and Dragoons in
Great Britain, which in the whole will amount to about 1200
men.
