Charlestown, (South Carolina) June 13. On Wednesday evening
last his Excellency the Rt. Hon. Lord Charles-Greville
Montagu, Governor in Chief, &c. of this province, his lady
and family, arrived here in the ship Fonthill, from England.
His Excellency was immediately saluted by a discharge of the
cannon in the forts and bastions. Yesterday, the morning was
ushered in with the ringing of bells, the colours were
displayed, and the militia were drawn up in Broad-Street,
forming two lines, between which his Lordship, who was
received at the landing by two members of his Majesty's
Council, walked to the State-House, being preceded by the
Light Infantry Company,
