To the Inhabitants of this City. In order to assist Mr.
Whig Refugee in effecting a reconciliation of parties, and
to prevent the real Whigs "from their hard pressed
necessities or from too great an exercise of their passions,
violating the public peace, or the public engagement of the
United States;" for the propriety of such a coalition we
have the illustrious Washington's sentiments; I would
recommend that, from the following persons, (of known Tory
characters) some may be selected to compose part of the
legislature. . . [11 lines, list of names]
The innumerable benefits we shall derive therefrom, are
too conspicuous to need particularlizing; a very material
one would be giving a precedent to the dancing assembly, and
an encouragement to vendue masters . . . [12 lines, signed]
A Half Whig Half Tory.
