[London] April 19. . . [1 paragraph] The Lord Chamberlain's
order to Mr. Garrick and Mr. Rich, that they should not
permit any entertainments to be exhibited in Passion Week,
extended not only to the benefits, but to Mr. Handel's
Oratories, none of which will be perform'd next week; though
it has been the usual custom to have the Messiah on
Wednesdays and Thursdays in that week. All the concerts and
the entertainment for the fund of decay'd musicians will
also be postponed. This order gives a general satisfaction
to all people, who think a sacred right ought to be be paid
to the religious customs of their country.
