Philadelphia, June 20. Last evening, at the new theatre in
Water Street, the Careless Husband, and Harlequin Collector,
were acted before a very crowded and polite audience, for
the benefit of the charity children belonging to the academy
of this city; on which occasion the following prologue was
spoken by Mr. Rigby,
Our humble prologue means not to engage
Candor for scenes that long have grac'd the stage;
Nor vainly strive to pay with words, at last,
For cheering smile, and kind protection past.
