Boston, December 18. The following lines were written by a
lady upon General Amherst's leading his troops from Boston,
after the conquest of Louisbourg to join our army that had
been repulsed at Ticonderoga.
Methinks I see Britannia's genius here,
Who smiles to find her guardian sons to care:
Whilst ev'ry heart with indignation glows,
Warm'd with the sense of injur'd Britain's woes.
