Mr. Heidegger is a man of a singular character. The history
of his life deserves to be written, born among the mountains
of Switzerland, amidst the greatest simplicity of manners,
nature has given him all the inclinations, all the taste,
and all the essentials for the most striking and refined

appointed him director of their pleasures, and this post is
