Citation | NYGWPB.765.113 19 Sep 1765:22 (1185) [London] By advices lately received from Warwickshire we are informed, that an old walnut-tree, planted before the door of Shakespear's father and flourishing at the nativity of that immortal poet, at Stratford upon Avon in the said county, has, within a short time since been cut down and that several gentlemen (in regard to his memory) have had a number of images carved out of the same, exactly resembling his effigy in Westminster-Abbey. |
