Supplement to the Pennsylvania Gazette, May 19. This morning
arrived the brig Minerva, Capt. Thomas Wise from Poole, who
brought the Act for repealing the Stamp-Act.(see supplement)
which obtain'd his royal assent the 18th of March. On the
arrival of the above-mentioned delightful news, tho' long-
expected, a sudden joy was immediately diffused thro'all
ranks of people in the whole city, neighbours ran to
congratulate each other, and all the bells in town were set
to ringing, which continued till late at night, and began
again early next morning, (yesterday) continuing till 9
