A Description of the Island of St. Helena. [From the
Sailor's Letters, just published.] To T. G. Esquire. St.
Helena, May 30, 1765. . . [In the 3rd paragraph:] It is such
a scene of rapture, that had that child of fancy,
Shakespear, beheld it, after such a voyage as ours, his
description and imagery would (if possible) have surpassed
every thing he has given us:---for I may truly say with him.
"The object and the pleasure of mine eye, Is only Helena.--
Midsummer Night's Dream."
