By permission of his Excellency the Governor. For the
benefit of Miss Storer and Miss Maria Storer. (Not acted
there these seven years.) By the American Company. At the
Theatre in John-Street, on this present evening, the 1st of
May, 1769, will be presented,an historical tragedy, call'd,
Jane Shore.
With entertainments, viz.
Fly Soft Ideas, from Artaxerxes; and Come Ever Smiling
Liberty, from Judas Maccabeus; by Miss M. Storer.
End of the play Mr. Wall will give a Specimen of Mr.
Foots's, Oratory of the Bar: which will be illustrated by a
mock trial of Fanny the Fantome or The Cock-Lane Ghost.
To which will be added a b[a]llad farce, (not acted this
season) call'd
The Devil To-Pay, or, The Wives Metamorphos'd.
Tickets to be had at Hugh Gaine's, at the Bible and Crown,
in Hanover-Square, and of John Partridge, at the Theatre,
and of Miss Storer, in Cart and Horse Street, facing the
church. To begin at 7 o'clock. Vivant Rex & Regina.
