News from London. Extract of a letter from Portsmouth,
Jan.25.]
On Tuesday afternoon was brought out to be interred in the
chancel of our church, after the Greek priests had performed
their ceremony of burial to the corpse in a house, the
Russian officer mentioned in my last. Two Greek priests,
dressed in their proper habiliments, preceded the corpse. .
. [4 more lines] After them marched 150 Grenadiers, the
officers with crape in their hats; the drums (which were
covered in black) and trumpets playing a dead march. The
deceased was buried in his proper uniforms. . .
