Philadelphia, October 22. On Sunday sen'night the
Presbyterian Church, in Arch-Street, was hung in black, in
testimony of their regard for the late Rev. Mr. George
Whitefield, when two hymns (one of which was composed by Mr.
Whitefield himself, for his funeral) were sung by some young
gentlemen, and a sermon, suitable to the occasion was
preached by the Rev. Mr. Sproat, from Acts xi, 24, v. `For
he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost, and of
faith:and much people was added unto the Lord.' We hear the
sermon will be printed.
