Assembly. It is proposed to open a subscription for an
assembly to be held once a fortnight, during the winter, on
Thursdays, the subscribers paying two guineas each, and it
being requisite from the size of the rooms to limit the
numbers of subscribers to two hundred, the subscription will
therefore be confined to the officers of the navy, army in
garrison, including the public departments in town and
gentlemen holding civil offices under the Crown, also
residing in town; gentlemen resident in the city, not
included in the above description, will be invited to
subscribe. The subscription was opened at Roubalet's, the
21st inst. the money to be paid at the time of subscribing.
The subscription closes to-morrow. N.B. Notice will be
given when the assembly will commence, and where the tickets
will be delivered.
