Philadelphia, May 7. Thursday last many respectable
inhabitants of Philadelphia, elated with the glorious
prospect of peace and public happiness, and desirous of
reviving the former good, old custom of the country, in
commemorating St. Tammany's Day, assembled on the banks of
Schuykill, dressed and distinguished in black tails and
feathers, very expressive of the occasion, where a suitable
entertainment was prepared; having spent the day in the
greatest pleasure imaginable, they returned to town, marched
to the Coffee House in regular file and order, with music,
&c. and after displaying the most perfect joy in three
huzzas, they retired and dispersed.
