Martin Foy, dancing-master, just arrived from Europe: having
acquired from the most eminent professors, the true movement
of a minuet, with proper graces and most exact time, in the
newest and politest taste, also country dances, in the
genteelest manner, begs leave to inform the ladies and
gentlemen of this city, that he will open a school at the
Assembly-Room in Lodge-Alley, the twenty-seventh instant, to
be continued Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, pursuant to
the encouragement of his friends whose favours he no longer
expects, than his general conduct shall appear to deserve
them.
N.B. He purposes teaching gentlemen the use of the small-
sword, in the most approved method, which he acquired by
practice and experience, under the instruction of the most
judicious swords-men, and will give due attendance on
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the forenoon.
Any messages for him at his lodgings, at the Widow
Child's, in Arch-street, shall be duly attended to. April
20, 1767.
