5-12 Dec 1768:3991 (100)
By authority. By the American Company, at the Theatre in
Southwark; on Wednesday the 14th of December, will be
presented
Macbeth.
Macbeth, by Mr. Hallam. Lady Macbeth, by Miss Cheer.
With
Miss in her Teens.
After which will be exhibited upon the stage, an elegant set
of fire-works, (by the two Italian brothers, who have
performed at the Theatre Royal, at Madrid, before their
Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, and at the Theatres
of most of the Courts in Italy and German, and given
universal satisfaction) to be arranged in the following
manner;
  Three chinese candles.
A wheel, illuminated by several changes.
  A superb diamond piece.
A representation of a magnificent pyramid, illuminated
with various fires; in the middle a large wheel, with
variagated fire, on each side of the pyramid elegant
girandols.
With many curious pieces too tedious to insert here.
[hand pointing right] The Ceiling will be opened to carry
off the smoak.
Mr. Douglass having, with great pleasure, observed the
satisfaction which the exhibition on Friday gave to the
audience in general, has, at a much greater expense, engaged
the conductors to prepare this set, which he doubts not will
meet with that countenance and encouragement every attempt
of his to entertain the town has been favoured with.
Nothing more than the usual prices will be demanded. --
Box, 7s.6d.--Pit, 5s.--Gallery, 3s.
