As soon as the death of his Grace the Duke of Newcastle was known, the bells in the parishes of St. Giles's in the Fields, St. George, Bloomsbury, St. Clement Danes, St. Mary le Strand, St. Paul, Covent-Garden, &c. began to toll, which was continued for four hours successively, in memory of their worthy benefactor. |
