recent attacks on their manners and activities.] . . . And
yet have we not much to dread, if, because we cannot like
the company of those, who are eternally preaching to us on
the long exploded themes of morality and good housewifry, we
discard them, and rejoice only in the sweet and edifying
conversation of those, who know the prices of lace, and
silk, and china, &c. and what dresses were most approved or
disapproved at the Church or playhouse; relying on your
speedily administering such advice, as will be intirely
effectual in removing of the unmerited censure under which
we groan. . .
