Yesterday being the day of Mr. Wilkes's enlargement, there was the greatest rejoicings all over this city: In the morning the bells of several churches were rung, and many patriotic societies dined together. Letters from York mention, that on Wednesday the 18th inst. the day of Mr. Wilkes's enlargement, the morning was ushered in by ringing of bells, and other demonstrations of joy on the occasion. |
