[In a veiled account of a disagreement with a specific but
unnamed Presbyterian church, the following reference:]
. . . He can hardly believe that David has any real
religion, which (I conclude since) must be the reason why
they don't make use of his psalms, either in public or
private, probably thinking the author or authors of their
hymns were better men than the Royal Psalmist, which, by the
way, seems to be a very hard censure on a part of the divine
oracles. . .
