Citation | PEP.775.013 11 Mar 1775:821 (1/21) London, Jun. 10. Extract of a letter from Langport, in Somersetshire, Dec. 28. We have had great rejoicings in our neighbourhood on account of the marriage of Lady Hester Pitt, eldest daughter of the Earl of Chatham, to Lord Viscount Mahone, son of Earl Stanhope. The bells at Curry-Rivel (the parish in which Burton Pysent stands) were rung for five days and nights, and in all the villages round for two days. . . |
