Kingston (in Jamaica) May 6. On Thursday the 27th ult. the
new theatre, on the parade in this town, was opened by the
American Company of Comedians, under the direction of Mr.
Douglass, with Mr. Cumberland's comedy of the West-Indian,
and a petite piece of Mr. Garrick's, called Miss in her
Teens. The applause which attended the whole of the
performance, as it stamped the mark of approbation on the
merit of the performers, who did all imaginable justice to
their several characters, so it reflected honour upon the
taste and judgement of their auditors.
