The following New Publications, in Literature, are just
arrived from London, by the way of Egg Harbour, and are now
for sale at Bell's book store in Third-Street, Philadelphia.
Among a great variety of others are the following:
Bell's British Theatre, 18 vols. containing ninety of the
most favorite tragedies and comedies, embellished with a
curious and valuable set of ninety prints, finely executed
by the finest masters in Britain, representing some
principal performer in the most favorite scene of each play;
consisting of ninety five dramatic characters, all drawn
from the life, on purpose for this work, and executed in a
stile that will hand the subjects down to posterity, with an
uncommon degree of respect and reputation; likewise to each
volume is prefixed a grand vignette, on the front title
page, beautifully designed and elegantly engraved.
Bell's Edition of British Poets, 32 vols. Nothing short of
ocular observation can convey a just idea of the beauty of
this work.
