A Proclamation [of war against Spain]. . . And I am
commanded by his Majesty, to assure his good subjects in the
said province, that the troops to be raised in pursuance of
his Majesty's instructions, as well officers as soldiers
shall enter into his Majesty's pay, . . . [3 lines]
And that all serjeants, corporals, drummers and private
soldiers, shall be entitled to receive his Majesty's pay,
from the respective days on which they shall be inlisted . .
