Virginia, March 31. 1747. Run away from the subscriber,
living in Caroline County, on the 8th of March, an English
servant man, named William Jocham, aged about 19 years,
about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, of a fresh complexion, has
a small beard, long and narrow face, the end of his nose a
little crooked, speaks some words pretty broad, and is a
turner of hollow-ware by trade; but since I had him he has
followed playing on the violin in dancing schools, and
probably may pretend to teach dancing and musick, as he can
play tolerable well on the violin by book. Had on when he
went away, an old red coat and jacket, . . . [5 lines] He
also took with him, a middle siz'd white natural pacing
horse, . . . [3 lines]
Whoever secures the said runaway in any publick goal, so
that I may have him, together with the horse, shall have two
pistoles reward, besides what the law allows, paid by
[signed] Augustine Muse.
