Philadelphia, May 18. 1749. Run away, the 16th instant,
from the subscriber, living in White-clay Creek hundred,
Newcastle county, an Irish servant man, named John Gilespy,
well set, fair complexion, with very short black hair, about
twenty one years of age, had on when he went away, a whitish
broadcloth coat, much worn, brown linnen jacket, coarse tow
trowsers, two shirts, one a ten, and the other an eight
hundred, fine black worsted stockings, almost new, coarse
shoes, almost new, with founders buckles in them. Whoever
takes up and secures said servant, so as his master may have
him again, shall have three pounds reward, and reasonable
charges, paid by [signed] Robert Nivin.
N.B He inclines to the sea, and pretends to be a drummer.
