Charles-town, Caecil county, Maryland, February 12, 1753.
Run away from the subscriber, Joseph Edwards, shoemaker,
living in Charles-Town, an apprentice boy named John
Barneby: Had on . . . [3 lines] He's about 5 feet high,
country born, well-built, and chunkey, slow spoken, and of a
sallow complexion; has three years of his time to serve.
Went off in company with John McDonald, an Irish boy. an
apprentice of Thomas Pryer's. He was bred to tumbling,
slight of hand, &c. and acquainted in Philadelphia. Whoever
takes up and secures said John Barneby, so as his master may
have him again, shall have thirty shillings reward, and
reasonable charges, paid by [signed] Joseph Edwards.
