London. . . April 28. . . The same afternoon [yesterday
se'nnight], a fellow had the impudence to attempt stealing a
piece of plate from a milk woman's garland, but being
detected before he had accomplished his design, he underwent
a very odd discipline. The dancers being armed with sticks,
made a ring, and obliged him to dance with the music they
played merrily on his shoulders, and then delivered him to
the mercy of the mob.
