Paris A-la-Main, April 7. There is to be seen at the hotel
of Monaco, at Versailles, an extraordinary piece of
mechanism. It is the figure of a man, mounted upon a tun,
as large as life, and painted flesh colour. An organist has
made this figure pronounce a considerable number of words,
name all the letters in the alphabet, the months of the
year, and to wish a good day to all the company, very
distinctly. In short, it is the most extraordinary piece of
art of its kind that ever was heard of. All the court has
seen it with admiration. The inventor sets this machine in
motion by a pair of bellows and cylinder.
