Philadelphia, July 31, 1755, Absented themseves from his
majesty's service, the two following recruits, belonging to
the regiment of his late excellency General Braddock, viz.
George Alcorn . . . [4 lines]
The other named Edward Williams, born in Portsmouth, five
feet five inches high, about 18 or 19 years of age, has blue
eyes, fair complection, very talkative, beats on the drum,
and is supposed to go towards Kent on Delaware and Maryland.
Whoever brings the said recruits to Adolph Beneel, at the
Indian King, in Philadelphia, shall have a guinea reward for
each, and reasonable charges.
