Extract of a letter from Dublin, December 9. It is with
great pleasure we can acquaint you, that the late unnatural
dissentions in this Kingdom are happily dissipated by the
patriotic measures of his Excellency, the present Lord
Lieutenant, who is every thing that is amiable. We are
blessed under his administration. Our entertainments are
rational. We have no disputes about French dancers or
Italian singers, as I find has been the case with you. We
are greatly entertained here with an English opera, called
Eliza, which is performed with uncommon applause, and which
it highly merits, as it breathes the true spirit of Liberty,
and is expressive of the utmost loyalty to the present happy
establishment.
