Philadelphia, December 28, 1758. For the entertainment of
the curious,
It proposed to exhibit, on Tuesday next, in the apparatus-
room of the college, a course of experiments in electricity;
to be accompanied with a lecture on the nature and
properties of that entertaining branch of Natural
Philosophy. by Ebenezer Kinnersley, M.A. Professor of
English and Oratory, in the College and Academy of
Philadelphia. . . [1 column: a lecture with 36 experiments,
number 22 is] Eight musical bells rung by an electrified
phial of water. [Experiment number 35 in the second lecture
is:] A curious machine put in motion by lightening, and
playing variety of tunes on eight musical bells. . .
The lecture to begin precisely at eleven a clock in the
forenoon. Tickets to be had at the London Coffee-house, and
at Mr. Kinnersley's house, in Market-street. Price a
dollar.
This course of experiments is proposed to be exhibited
again on Thursday next.
N.B. A select company of nine or ten persons, at any
convenient time, giving notice a day or two beforehand, may
have a lecture to themselves.
