Thomas Griffiths requests leave to acquaint the publick,
that last Monday evening he opened the British Punch-House,
at the King David and Harp in Water-street, near Market-
street wharff; and humbly hopes his worthy friends will
honour him with their company, where they shall find such
respectful treatment that is due to gentlemen, and becoming
a landlord, by their humble servant [signed] Thomas
Griffiths.
There will be a Welsh Club every Saturday evening, where
all gentlemen of that ancient pedigree will be chearfully
received into that friendly society, at the hour of five
o'clock in the evening, to subscribe their names, and
consider of proper regulations. &c.
P.S. And whereas it is likewise proposed to form a
Society of gentlemen, to be known and distinguished by the
title of the Free Antigallican Society, whose transactions
will be properly calculated for the good of the publick; it
is therefore further requested that all such gentlemen, who
have a hearty zeal for the honour and prosperity of their
country, and are inclinable to enter into such an
association, meet at the house of the said Griffith on
Monday, the 23d inst. being St. George's Day, where a plan
and articles will be humble offered to their consideration.
