The rejoicings at Constantinople, on the birth of an heir to
the Ottoman throne, surpassed all description. There were
upwards of 100 orchestras erected in different parts of that
capital, and furnished with all the ablest musicians, who
played without ceasing for seven days and seven nights; . .
